Overview
Velaro publishes Voluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT) reports for all products. These reports document conformance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA as referenced by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act (as amended) and EN 301 549 (European accessibility standard for ICT products and services).
VPATs are prepared in accordance with the ITI VPAT 2.5 WCAG Edition template. Conformance is assessed against Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).
WCAG 2.1 AA + WCAG 2.2 AA — full conformance. All current reports cover both WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the nine new criteria introduced in WCAG 2.2 (October 2023). A CI regression guard (scripts/validate-accessibility.js) prevents drift on every push. Reports are updated with each product release.
Velaro Platform (v20)
The Velaro Platform consists of three surfaces: the visitor chat widget embedded on your website, the agent console used by your support team to handle conversations, and the admin console used to configure the platform. Both consoles share the same component library and accessibility baseline; they are covered by a single Agent & Admin VPAT.
Livefluence (v11)
Livefluence is Velaro's enterprise chat platform built for high-volume operations: contact centers running 2,000+ concurrent agents, resellers, digital marketing agencies, and large enterprise deployments. It is a separate product line from the Velaro Platform (v20) above and has its own roadmap, infrastructure, and accessibility conformance documentation.
Standards Referenced
Velaro's accessibility conformance reports reference the following standards:
- WCAG 2.1 Level A and AA — Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1, W3C Recommendation 5 June 2018
- Section 508 — Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 (as amended by the Workforce Investment Act of 1998), 36 CFR Parts 1193 and 1194
- EN 301 549 — Accessibility requirements for ICT products and services, v3.2.1 (2021-03)
WCAG 2.1 Level AA is the primary conformance target. Section 508 and EN 301 549 both incorporate WCAG 2.1 Level AA by reference, so a single WCAG 2.1 AA assessment covers the relevant requirements of all three frameworks.
Conformance Levels
Each criterion in the VPAT tables is assigned one of the following conformance levels as defined by the ITI VPAT template:
- Supports — The functionality of the product has at least one method that meets the criterion without known defects or meets with equivalent facilitation.
- Partially Supports — Some functionality of the product does not meet the criterion.
- Does Not Support — The majority of product functionality does not meet the criterion.
- Not Applicable — The criterion is not relevant to the product.
- Not Evaluated — The product has not been evaluated against the criterion.
